Charlton U18 6-0 Ipswich Town U18

Charlton’s U18s continued their ruthless streak in front of goal on Saturday, claiming a convincing 6-0 triumph over Ipswich Town.

Ryan Huke was the hat-trick hero at Sparrows Lane with Henry Rylah, Nathan Asiimwe and Patrick Casey also finding the back of the net in what was another dominant display from Danny Senda’s side.

It took just 16 minutes for the young Addicks to open the scoring in New Eltham, as Rylah raced onto Casey’s through ball and drilled the ball past the visiting stopper.

Charlton’s second came nine minutes later when Kai Enslin capitalised on a loose pass out from the Ipswich goalkeeper and fed Huke, who finished with aplomb from close range.

The Addicks didn’t let up and added a third on the stroke of half-time following intricate play from Casey, who turned the ball around the corner for the advancing Asiimwe and the defender converted coolly on the angle.

Having already claimed two assists Casey bagged a goal of his own on 61 minutes, stretching to convert Rylah’s deep cross from the right.

The Addicks’ dominance continued and Huke notched his side’s fifth eight minutes from time having started the move himself. After winning back possession in opposition territory the midfielder was played through by Ralfi Hand and he showed great composure to chop onto his right foot and finish.

There was still time for Huke to complete his hat-trick deep into injury time, bundling home from close range after Brook Myers’ goalbound shot was deflected into his path.

Senda’s side are next in action on Saturday when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League Cup.
