Charlton U18 9-0 Kingstonian U18 (FA Youth Cup)

Charlton’s U18s booked their place in the second round of the FA Youth Cup in sensational style, claiming an emphatic 9-0 triumph over Kingstonian on Wednesday.

A clinical first-half display saw Danny Senda’s side take a seven-goal lead into the break, with Patrick Casey claiming a hat-trick and Toby Bower bagging a brace.

The young Addicks were ruthless from start to finish at Princes Park and took a 20th-minute lead through Bower. The skipper converted from the penalty spot after Ryan Huke’s effort struck the arm of a visiting defender.

Ollie Hobden curled into the top corner nine minutes later to double Charlton’s advantage, before Casey added his side’s third with a cool finish from close range.

Huke was on hand to stab home a fourth following a Daniel Kanu shot and Bower soon added his second and the Addicks’ fifth, stealing in at the back post to convert Henry Rylah’s cross.

Casey netted twice in stoppage-time to complete a stunning first-half hat-trick, first steering home Rylah’s centre and then heading home Bower’s cross.

Daniel Kanu was on hand to convert Charlton’s eighth soon after the hour-mark, slotting home after Bower’s initial effort was well saved.

Substitute Kai Enslin notched the Addicks’ ninth seven minutes later, firing the ball into the bottom corner after racing onto Huke’s through ball.

Senda’s side now await the details of their second-round tie, which must be played by Saturday, November 26th. Full details will be communicated to supporters once confirmed.
