Swansea City U18 3-5 Charlton U18

Charlton’s U18s claimed an emphatic victory at Swansea City on Saturday.

Kai Enslin was the hat-trick hero in Landore, while Patrick Casey bagged a brace as Danny Senda’s side earned a third successive triumph across all competitions.

It took just 12 minutes for the young Addicks to open the scoring in south Wales. Henry Rylah carried the ball forward with real purpose before feeding Ryan Huke, who squared for Enslin to stroke home at the back post.

The Addicks’ advantage proved to be short-lived though as the Swans struck back moments later through Geoff Bony, who headed home Iwan Morgan’s cross from close range.

Casey soon restored Charlton’s lead, converting a lightning counter-attack that began with goalkeeper Henry Molyneux. The stopper’s pinpoint ball freed Enslin wide left and he teed up Toby Bower, whose inswinging cross was turned home at the second time of asking by Casey.

Bony grabbed his and Swansea’s second of the afternoon on the stroke of half-time, latching onto Kyrell Wilson’s incisive through ball and finishing past Molyneux.

The Addicks regained the lead five minutes after the restart through Enslin, who raced onto Rylah’s deft flick and coolly slotted past Swans stopper Kit Margetson.

Casey added the Addicks’ fourth soon after the hour-mark, reacting quickest to instinctively stab home after Margetson could only parry Enslin’s curler into the forward’s path.

Enslin ensured he would be leaving Swansea with the match ball minutes later, ghosting in at the far post and poking home substitute Ralfi Hand’s low centre.

The hosts pulled one back late on through Rohan Davies, but it mattered not as the young Addicks claimed another three points.
