Charlton’s U21s returned to winning ways on Tuesday afternoon, earning a 2-0 win at Watford.
Daniel Kanu and Aaron Henry were both on the scoresheet at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium as Hamza Serrar’s side claimed maximum points in the Professional Development League clash.
After a closely-contested first half, the young Addicks took control and forced Hornets stopper Alfie Marriott into a string of saves to preserve the deadlock.
Charlton continued to mount pressure on the hosts thereafter and that pressure eventually told 12 minutes from time. Henry picked out the advancing Kanu, who rounded Marriott and stroked the ball home to give his side a deserved lead.
The Addicks were given a golden opportunity to double their advantage late on after substitute Jason Adigun was fouled inside the box. Henry stepped up and made no mistake, coolly converting past Marriott from 12 yards to earn the young Addicks maximum points in Hertfordshire.
