Charlton’s U18s’ outstanding run of form continued with a 3-0 victory at Millwall on Saturday.
Miles Leaburn, Ryan Huke and Daniel Kanu all found the net in a comprehensive win which cemented the Addicks’ place at the top of Professional Development League 2 – South.
It took just five minutes for Leaburn to open the scoring, with left-back Toby Bower claiming yet another assist. His cross from the left was met by Leaburn’s glancing header which nestled into the back of the net.
The second came shortly after the restart in the second half and Leaburn was involved again, turning on the style with a classy assist. Receiving the ball midway into the Lions’ half with his back to goal, he rolled a no-look, backheeled pass into the path of the advancing Ryan Huke who got into the box and calmly slotted home.
It was the young Addicks who were dominating proceedings at Millwall’s Calmont Road training ground and they bagged a deserved third with five minutes remaining as goal machine Kanu emerged from the bench to net his 29th goal of the season.
Once again, Leaburn was at the centre of it, hooking a pass over to his left to find fellow forward Kanu, who picked his spot and fired low into the bottom right-hand corner to round off another three points for Hamza Serrar’s side.
