Junior Quitirna’s stunning free-kick for the Charlton Athletic U23s against Cardiff City in the 3-1 win on Monday, 11 January at Sparrows Lane has been voted the January 2021 Academy Goal of the Month.
Quitirna opened the scoring just two minutes after the break, planting the ball into the top left-hand corner after sub Richard Afrane-Kesey had been fouled just outside the box
Quitirna’s effort was chosen by Charlton Supporters in an online vote organised by Valley Gold, beating six other contenders.
