The Addicks’ U18s made it back-to-back wins with a 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Sparrows Lane on Saturday.
Charlton’s youngsters were made to come from behind with the visitors opening the scoring on 26 minutes. Taking advantage of a misplaced pass from the back, QPR worked the ball back into the box and a Hoops forward slotted into the net from 10 yards.
But the Addicks responded well and were level five minutes before the break thanks to a brilliant header from Dylan Gavin. The forward timed his jump well to get above his marker and powerfully nod home from 12 yards.
The hosts got themselves into a deserved lead in the 79th minute with substitute Tolu Ladapo latching on to Jeremy Santos’ fine, bouncing, low cross from the right to finish past the goalkeeper from close range and Gavin rounded things up in the 90th minute to seal his brace and net his side’s third – Tyreece Campbell beat his man to get to the byline and pulled the ball back for the striker to tap home from a yard out.
