Charlton Athletic U18s midfielder Aaron Henry spoke to Valley Gold for Academy Notes after the recent 2-1 defeat at home to 4th placed Bristol City.
The young central midfielder who has been at Charlton since the age of 10 enjoys to be on the ball showcasing his passing ability in possession said:
“We began the game well scoring a very well-worked goal early on. Freddy Barton playing a huge role carrying the ball from right back to the edge of their penalty area and playing Jeremy Santos who slid in Richard Afrane-Kesey to score the opener in style. Celebrations followed and we were on course for a comfortable win.”
“As the minutes progressed the game became scrappy with neither team really asserting any dominance. Midway through the second half, Bristol equalised and later managed to grab the winner.”
“Following this result, we now sit 4th in the table and Bristol have overtaken us sitting in third place.”
“We will have to regroup and prepare for a huge game against the league leaders and rival club Millwall next weekend at their training ground.”
