Charlton’s U23s win 2-0 against Bristol City

A fairly even game at Greenwich Borough was finally won by Charlton in the last ten minutes of the game.

With the sides evenly matched Bristol City striker Hinds was sent off when he stamped on the back of Jo Cummings leg in the 78th minute. This gave a numerical advantage to the U23s which they took advantage of.

In the 88th minute Joshua Umerah buried the ball into the back of a net with a diving header after a great cross from Morgan.

With time running out the U23s doubled their lead with quick thinking. Bristol City’s defence was still setting up when Louis-Michel YamFam curled a free kick from the edge of the box into the net.

This victory was Jason Euell’s side’s seventh in Professional Development League 2 South this season and keeps them fifth in the table.
