SUPPORTING THE FUTURE OF CHARLTON ATHLETIC

Valley Gold launched in 1989, with its original aim being to aid the club’s return to The Valley. After achieving its initial goal of helping Charlton Athletic return to The Valley in December 1992, Valley Gold focused on helping the club’s academy thrive.

Since Valley Gold’s inception, no fewer than 108 academy graduates have featured in the Addicks’ first-team - including five full England internationals in Lee Bowyer, Paul Konchesky, Scott Parker, Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Gomez.

Fourteen graduates have made more than 100 senior appearances for Charlton and in 2009, with the club struggling financially, Valley Gold was vital in keeping the academy afloat.
