Vote now: Charlton Athletic Young Player of the Year 2023/24

The end of the 2023/24 season is almost upon us – and it’s time to vote for your Charlton Athletic Young Player of the Year!

Voting is open to Valley Gold members ONLY, and four players have been nominated by Academy Director Steve Avory.

The Young Player of the Year award will be presented at the Charlton Athletic 2024 Player of the Year dinner on Sunday, April 28th in the Meantime Fans’ Bar at The Valley. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

The four nominated players to choose from are:

Karoy Anderson

Karoy made his debut last season, scoring at Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Trophy and had a successful loan spell at Aldershot in the National League. This season, he has pushed on in the Charlton First Team, making 19 League appearances, scoring 2 goals and is currently an ever-present in Nathan Jones’s team. The 19-year-old has also gained some very beneficial international experience having been selected for Jamaica, and has made 5 appearances for the Reggae Boyz.

Nathan Asiimwe

Nathan made his league debut on the final day of the 2022/23 season, The 19-year-old has made 24 first-team appearances this season (18 in the League) and has been a regular in the first-team squad. Nathan joined the Academy at Under 9 and recently made his international debut for Uganda.

Tyreece Campbell

Tyreece made his Charlton debut during the 2021/22 season and has now gone on to make a total of 52 appearances including 28 League appearances this season scoring 2 goals. He has been ever-present in the First Team squad since the beginning of the season. The 20-year-old graduated through the Academy, joining as an Under 9.

Daniel Kanu

Daniel made his debut in the 2022/23 campaign, but it is this season where he has progressed quickly in senior football, including a loan spell at Southend United for a month, where he scored 4 goals in one game, before being recalled by Charlton. He has made 24 appearances this season, scoring 6 goals and establishing himself regularly in Nathan Jones’s starting XI. The 19-year-old has recently made his international debut for Sierra Leone.
