Voting is now open for the Charlton Athletic Young Player of the Year 2020/21.

This season’s vote will take place via an online ballot and voting is open to Valley Gold members ONLY. The closing date is 12 May 2021 (6 pm).

Members can cast their vote by clicking here and selecting one of the following players:

Albie Morgan – Age 21
Albie, now 21, has made 55 appearances at first-team level and 31 of those have come this season. Now an established midfield player in Nigel Adkins squad. Albie signed for the Academy as an Under 9 player. Great to see a young player come all the way through the system. A midfield player with an excellent range of pass and a vision for creativity. Also has excellent delivery on set plays.

Charlie Barker – Age 18
Charlie made his first-team debut, aged 17, at the beginning of this season and went on to make 9 appearances, including a start at right-back in the Carabao Cup v West Ham. His other appearances were mostly at centre back, including his first goal for the club against Swindon. Although still an Under 18 scholar, Charlie has played most of the season as first-choice centre back in the Under 23’s.

Aaron Henry – Age 17
Aaron made his first-team debut in the FA Cup v West Brom aged 16 in January 2020. He has also played for the first team in 2020/21, a total of 4 appearances now. Still only 17, Aaron has played most of this season in the Under 23’s. He has been at the Academy since Under 9, another product to have come all the way through the youth development system. A midfield player with an excellent passing technique and an eye for the incisive pass and long-range attempt on goal.

The winner will be announced across the club’s social channels.
