Argentina Tour Update: A positive experience for Academy boys

Charlton’s Academy boys recently returned from Argentina finishing fourth in the Newell’s Cup tournament and Valley Gold Promoter Paul Nottage asked the tour organiser Adam Lawrence to find out what the boys experienced.

Toby Bower was amazed and said: ‘Argentina was a fantastic tour. It was good to see the different cultures as well as playing in the Newell’s Old Boys Cup. I enjoyed playing against the different types of South American teams and seeing their style of play. The stadium tour of Newell’s Old Boys was great and we were lucky enough to get the opportunity to play there. Although we never won the tournament I will never forget the amazing experience thanks to Valley Gold.’

Dapo Falomo thought the tour was positive, adding: ‘Overall the tour was a positive experience for me and the rest of the team. I think everyone enjoyed themselves off of the pitch as friends and there was laughter and singing. Whilst on the pitch we played good possession football – the Charlton way. I would like to thank Valley Gold for an amazing opportunity and experience.’

Zach Mitchell who captained the team had a great time and said: ‘I had a great time on the trip and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It allowed me to learn about different styles of football but also different ways of living. We had the opportunity to visit local areas in Rosario and famous football stadiums, which was not only interesting but inspiring. Overall it was a trip I will never forget.’

Valley Gold continues to give support to the future of Charlton Athletic and your contributions to this tour has given our Academy boys an amazing life experience.
