Valley Gold recently donated £2,500 to the Charlton Athletic Women’s Team to help them invest in some new training kit and equipment.
With teams beginning at under 10s and going right up to senior level, just over £1,500 of the donation will go towards new training kit for them.
Around £500 is set to be used on new training footballs and hurdles, which will again benefit all of the age groups.
The final £500 will be donated to the operation fund of first-team striker Gemma Shepherd.
Gemma scored her 100th goal for Charlton earlier this season, with the century being brought up in just 92 appearances.
However, she sustained a hip injury in September and now requires a specialist operation in order for her to get back playing.
Gemma had set a £5,000 target and our contribution helped her to hit that on October 7th. She is now awaiting a date for her operation and everyone at Valley Gold is looking forward to seeing her back out on the pitch as soon as possible.
