Charlton Athletic Deaf FC would like to thank Valley Gold for their £1,500 donation towards their teams.
CAD FC are among the biggest deaf clubs in the UK, with their 85 members making up four different teams – the under 12s, under 16s, men’s and veterans.
The donation from Valley Gold will enable them to provide new kit for the men’s team, and also allow them to upgrade some of their equipment, and contribute to away-game travel costs.
Competing against other club’s all over the country, the men’s team – who play their home matches at Crofton Albion Sports Ground in Lee – recently flew to Scotland to take on Glasgow Deaf FC.
The youth teams, meanwhile, take part in occasional tournaments and friendlies, with all four sides training on a weekly basis.
The men’s and veteran teams train on a Tuesday evening at 8pm, while the under 12s and under 16s train every Saturday from 10am at Catford Soccer.
If you are interested in joining the club’s deaf team, you can find out more information about them and their training by contacting Ryan Marshall on ryanmarshall88@yahoo.co.uk, or on the Charlton Athletic Deaf Football Club’s Facebook page.
